One launch, two films: an Olympic champion and a razor built in CG.
Watch the spotLaunch BIC Soleil Sensitive Advanced alongside the US Olympic Swim Team, with Olympic gold medalist Simone Manuel at the center.
A live-action spot shot around an athlete’s schedule, and a full-CG product film showing the five flexible blades and water-activated strips.
Director, underwater and topside camera, editor and colorist; CG modelers, water simulation, lighting and a motion designer for supers.
A 30-second spot with two delivery packages and a hero CG film, sharing one look across the 2020 partnership.
How It Came Together
Water ties everything together. Simone Manuel is one of the fastest swimmers in the world, and the product is built around water — blades that glide, strips that activate when wet. So both films live in the pool.
The live-action spot moves between underwater speed and quiet close-ups out of the water. The CG film picks up the same teal world and turns it into product: razor heads orbiting in a vortex, the pack bursting through the surface, a single razor rising out of a splash — every frame simulated, lit and finished to feel tactile rather than synthetic.
Underwater and poolside photography of an Olympic champion, cut to a 30-second spot plus two delivery packages, then handed off to BIC’s “water activated” supers.
A product film with no camera at all: modeled, simulated, lit and composited in CG, then finished with the campaign’s supers and the swim team end card.
